The application of artificial intelligence to NDT
Using artificial intelligence (AI) to process non-destructive testing data offers numerous advantages, especially in the case of televisual inspections.
It eliminates difficulties caused by the lighting conditions and very noisy surfaces by sending alerts in real time in the event of an anomaly. It produces excellent results for the detection and characterisation of surface defects (cracks, scratches, porosity) on complex surfaces.
These performances demonstrate the benefits of artificial intelligence in comparison with traditional image processing methods in non-destructive testing.
